The blocks were one of the best math findings for me. So much fun and so easy to explain! The best part of it is that student-teachers enjoyed playing with them as much as our future students would.
With the base ten block manipulatives, cubes represent ones, rods represent tens, flats represent hundreds, and blocks represent thousands. Never thought one could "show the thousand" (or hundred, etc.)
Children learn best through play. These blocks help them not only understand, but also clearly see how math calculations "look" in reality.
